Cancelling a scan

Sometimes you start a scan and realize it's not the right moment, or it's running longer than expected. You can stop a scan that is still in progress.

When you can cancel

Only scans with the In progress status can be cancelled. Once a scan finishes (Completed or Failed), there's nothing to cancel.

You'll need an Owner or Admin role to cancel a scan.

How to cancel

Open your project and go to Cookies → Scanner.

Find the scan with the In progress status. In the Actions column, click the three-dot menu and choose Cancel Scan.

A confirmation dialog opens.

Click Cancel Scan to stop it. The status of the scan changes to Cancelled.

If you change your mind, click Keep Scanning and the scan continues.

After cancelling

The scan moves to Cancelled status. You can start a new scan straight away.

The cancelled scan remains in your scan history so you can see what was running and when it was stopped.
