Verifying the banner is live

After installing the script, take 5 minutes to verify everything works. The checklist below catches the most common issues.

1. Open your website in a fresh session

Open the website in an incognito or private window. This makes sure you're seeing what a brand-new visitor sees.

The banner should appear within a couple of seconds of the page loading.

2. Walk through every action

Accept All. Click it. The banner should disappear.

Reject All. Reload the page in a new incognito session and click Reject All. The banner should disappear.

Manage Settings. Open another fresh session and click Manage Settings. The Cookie Settings popup should open. Toggle a category and click Confirm My Choices.

Floating button. After accepting or rejecting, the small persistent button should be visible. Clicking it should reopen the popup so you can change your mind.

Open One Privacy and go to Consent audit in the left sidebar.

The actions you just took on the website should appear as records, with the right timestamp and choices. If they don't, see Consent not recorded.

4. Try a different region (optional)

If you have geo rules set up, test them.

Use the Location dropdown on the Test snippet to preview each region.

Or visit your website with a VPN set to a region you care about.

The banner you see should match the rule for that region.

5. Test on mobile

Open the website on a phone or in your browser's responsive view. Check that:

The banner is readable.

Buttons are easy to tap.

The Cookie Settings popup looks right.

The floating button doesn't overlap with anything important.

6. Test in a few browsers

The banner is built to work in modern browsers. A quick check in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox catches anything browser-specific.

If something's not right

Banner not appearing.

Consent not recorded.

Cookies firing before consent.
