Creating a geo rule

Geo rules link a list of locations to a specific banner. Setting up a rule takes about a minute.

Fill in three things.

Locations

Click the locations dropdown and pick one or more. You can search by name or country code (for example, "DE" for Germany). Add as many as you need; one rule can cover several countries.

Pick which banner this rule should show. The dropdown lists every banner you have set up in Banner customization.

Per-category defaults

For each cookie category (Functional, Performance, Targeting), you can choose whether visitors in this region should have the category enabled or disabled by default.

For strict opt-in regions like the EU, leave them off so visitors must actively accept.

For lighter regions, you might leave Functional on by default.

Save

Click Save Changes at the top of the screen. The rule is now active.

Mark a rule as default

You can mark one rule as the default. The default rule is used for any visitor whose location doesn't match a more specific rule.

Toggle the default switch on the rule you want to use as the catch-all.

Edit or delete a rule

Click any rule to edit it, or click the trash icon next to it on the list to remove it. Removing a rule cannot be undone.
